another big ol' gap between updates, whoops, I really need to stop doing that. Damon might look a bit odd here because I made a very last minute change to his design, which involved me having to redraw a bunch of stuff I had before, yayyyy :/ ah well, it makes more sense this way and hopefully he'll look less weird later chapters
there's also a bit of a small change I did in the shading style here, and maybe it's just me but I think it makes things look slightly nicer, I DUNNO MAN. in some panels I think it creates this kinda weird 3d depth effect and it freaks me out but I'm probably the only one who thinks so, lmao. but hopefully it looks nice to you all too!! speaking of changes, starting with this and the next part, you're probably gonna start noticing a bit of a shift in the color tone. my method originally was just "color everything normally and slap some multiply and overlay layers on it ok cool". but I've suddenly gotten really interested in mood coloring and the like, and looking back on the first couple parts, I'm kinda beating myself up because they just look sooooo boooring. I don't know how I let myself get away with that, and I'm not sure if this page is any better, aaaand I don't really know why I'm talking about this myself but whatever, I'm just hoping to make some more visually interesting color schemes in the future or something! whooooo why do I like babbling so much about stuff nobody cares about
